Mavic Pro 2

The Mavic Pro

This model is considered to be one of the most advanced from DJI, and here is a link to the refurbished model for $799. The Mavic Pro with it’s revolutionary technology and highly advanced software, surpasses the expectations of everyone that uses it. For my The Mavic Pro 2 Review, follow the link.

These drones are a work of art. They have taken the computers and technology and intertwined them together to make this revolutionary piece of hardware. The cameras on the Mavic are Hassleblad cameras. The Hasselblad was the camera used for the first moon landing. There is a video they used to introduce the Mavic Pro 2, and I have featured it here on this page. Click the video below to check it out. You are going to want to check this thing out.

Specifications for the Mavic Pro

With a 720p at 30/fps, resolution of the Mavics video transmission is phenomenal. The DJI Go 4 apps is a nice little improvement which chooses a frequency band automatically, but also allows the user to switch between 2.4 GHz to 5.8GHz frequencies. You might be wondering how fast this thing is, and there is 3 – speed modes you can operate in. The first is sports mode, and coming in at a whopping 64.8/km/h.

The second mode is called P-Mode and the speed for this is around 28 km/h. That leaves the last mode and this is WiFi mode with speeds the same as P-Mode. The Mavic Pro can also fly up to a distance of around 10 Km with no wind. There is three ways you can control the Mavic. You could just use the remote control included, use your smartphone with the DJI Go app, or smartphone connected to remote control with the Go app. In my opinion this is one of the best drones with a camera.

The Mavic Pro  – And Sensational Photography

The Mavic’s camera shoots amazing 4k at 3fps, and records at 100Mbs. Such a high quality camera help capture those spectacular moments. The intuitive camera takes three pictures in vertical view to stitch a panorama worth talking about. When shooting horizontal the camera will take 9 photos and stitch them together to make some magnificent panorama shots. If you want a 180 degree panoramic shot the drone will rotate take 21 images and stitch. With technology like this its hard to go back to the beginner models.

Navigation Time – The Mavic Pro

The Mavic Pro comes with some amazing intuitive technology. First lets talk about the Air Obstacle Sensing. The Mavic can sense objects in three directions. The forward backward, and downward vision system constantly scanning for objects, and avoiding those costly crashes. With the expensive price tag, I hope this has a system like object scanning. The next piece of the flight system is called “Flight Autonomy 2.0”.

The DJI integrated system, of sensors and algorithms. Helps to ensure there are no collisions. It has a new technology called the APAS system which again help discern between obstacles, and adds another layer of protection. When flying the drone I noticed a smooth and precise navigation system. All the features take a while to get through but everything looks very nice, and I’m super impressed with my purchase.

If I had to rate this drone, I would give it a 12 out of 10! The whole process of purchasing, to receiving, to operating has been an amazing experience. If someone asked me what I think I would say ” You have to get one of this thing, It will blow your mind!” When asked if I would do it again? “I said in a second.”

After you read this article, would you buy it? The experience I’ve had with this drone should not be for only one person. I say everyone has to try this. If I could give any suggestions of this I would say this, go get one of these things they are amazing, and will blow your mind. This website also includes affiliate links for your convenience.

I would definitely invest my money into this drone. I like the small size, and the speed seems to be good as well. Flight time and extra batteries are always a plus. It’s compact, easy to use, and easy to store when finished. You couldn’t ask for a better drone and yes, it’s more than worth the $1,800 price. It’s a product I would highly recommend any drone enthusiast to check out.

Thank you for the thorough review Trevor.  I was deciding between the DJI Mavic Air and the Parrot Anafi.  The Parrot is a little less expensive, but it seemed like the Mavic has some more features.  Also, quite honestly, I hadn’t heard of Parrot until I started researching.  My friend has a DJI so I’ve heard of them.  I live near a lake that is about a half mile across at it’s widest.  I shouldn’t lose reception should I?

    Thanks again!

How fun!!!!  It has taken me a bit longer to move up to the DJI Mavic drone quality than I prefer.   Someday.  Someday soon I hope.    I simply have not had time to go out and play with my cheap drone enough yet.   My plan it to learn how to fly the cheap drone so that I can minimize the risks of crashing a good drone.

That said, I try to follow people’s comments about the DJI’s as close as possible.  The quality of the aerial photographs is very important to me.   Actually, being able to take good quality aerial photos and videos is the real reason why I am interested in a drone in the first place.

A 12 out of 10 rating is pretty darned good.    Thanks for sharing the story.

Maybe next time you can include a few of your pictures that you were able to take.  Us photographers like to be able to dream by looking the pictures we are missing out on…..    No pressure of course.  lol

I was thinking about getting a drone for my nephew’s birthday which is in a couple of weeks for now. He is really passionate about flying them.

I don’t know much about drones but I’ve read a few very positive reviews about this DJI Mavic Air 2 Pro.

The only thing that kind of makes me skeptical is its flight time… I mean he is playing with his drones during the whole day and 21 minutes seems like a very short time with me. Are there drones with longer flight times? Like 4-5 hours or not?

    Maybe rechargeable batteries?

    • Trevor Mattiuz says:

Yes, there are instances where you can get batteries with signifigantly long life. All you really have to do is charge 4 batteries, and bam you;ve got loads of fun.

Hello Trevor, very helpful review. I was doing research on DJI Mavic 2 Pro and honestly, there is no any information about all its features that I can see. I am a  true drone lover so this is something I must add to my collection. It is a little bit expensive for my budget but it is definitely worth.

That’s the problem with a lot of drones these days, they don’t have much battery time in my experience with them but if you say that the DJI Mavic  Air 2 Pro has a battery life of 21 minutes then I might just take a look at buying one for myself

I know you said it’s the best drone with a camera but can you buy them without the camera or do they come off if I didn’t want to use it?

    • Trevor Mattiuz says:

Yes, there are attachments that come off. And that could significantly increase your speed too.

The work of air drone in my working place is very important. Many places one can not go in person , for cover-up, drone will go and come back safely. These particular features of drone inside this review is a hit and can be welcome by many places that are after quality coverages and pictures. The price is not very expensive, it potable size is w welcome and the rating is mind blowing. I would love to inform my manager about this product of DJI air drone and see if it worth investing on.

    • Trevor Mattiuz says:

By far the DJI Mavic Pro is definitely something worth investing in. The work applications alone are exponential. Thank you for you review!!
